The folks at Portland’s Ace Hotel took over a Deschutes National Forest lodge a few years ago and the resulting Suttle Lodge is a minimalist, rustic lodge on a beautiful mountain lake. In pure city fashion, they are hosting a New Year’s Eve lodge party complete with cocktails, Hama Hama oyster appetizers and dance music provided by DJ Jimbo. Reservations recommended.

If you book a room, be sure you fully understand restaurant and bar hours because The Suttle Lodge is a 30-minute drive from anything and you might find yourself needing breakfast earlier than the restaurant opens if you are heading out for mountain adventures. The nearby town of Sisters has a few restaurants and shops.
